Only the seamoth can ping its sonar a LOT without noticeably draining its single power cell. Why would operating the sonar use power cells up so quickly? The sonar is the exact same effect the seamoth has. I'm not sure what the point is if the shield sucks your power dry so quickly.īut what I think is even more disappointing is the sonar. It's like trading one massive power drain for another. ![]() But because the shield consumes so much power so quickly, it's almost worse than just letting the leeches do their thing. Now, I was told that tapping the shield takes them off. I also went down the pit to the lava area, where I was promptly covered in those damn leeches. I seem to recall getting struck despite having the shields up, which led me to believe that it's possibly useless. I suppose the balance would depend on how effective that shield is. ![]() And holy shit does it take down your batteries fast! Like, it seems to consume a full power cell in about 10-15 seconds of use. I was taking the sub to the LR Corridor and ended up getting an encounter with a reaper. And I'm rather surprised by how rapidly it burns through power cells! Okay, so I've finally got a chance to try out the current (final, I guess) balance of things with the Cyclops.
